Forbes Street by Gareth Mullins is delighted to announce the next wine dinner in their exclusive series on Thursday, 10th October 24. This exclusive event will be run in partnership with Findlater & Co. and will celebrate the fascinating history, culture and taste of MASI. With roots in Valpolicella Classica, The Masi story begins in 1772, when the Boscaini family carried out their first harvest in the prestigious vineyards in “Vajo dei Masi”, a valley in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica region. After more than 200 years of passionate winemaking the company is still in family hands, run by the sixth, seventh and eighth generations. The use of native grapes and autochthonous methods, and the research and experimentation carried out by its Technical Group, make it one of the most famous producers of high-quality Italian wines in the world.
The evening will commence at 6:30pm on The Rooftop Bar & Terrace at Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel where guests can enjoy canapés paired with the wonderful Canevel Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Brut sparkling wine from MASI.
Following this delightful start, guests will proceed to Forbes Street by Gareth Mullins for a sumptuous 5-course tasting menu. Gareth, as always has meticulously selected premium seasonal ingredients from local food producers to offer an extraordinary culinary experience to compliment these wonderful wines from MASI.
MASI wines are renowned for their premier quality with both robust and delicate flavours offering the perfect accompaniment to chef Gareth Mullin’s cuisine. MASI, together with Anantara The Marker’s Head Sommelier, Maxim Prokopenko have curated a delightful wine pairing which will bring the guest on a fascinating food and wine journey.
The starter of Barbeque Quail with barley, carrot and tarragon will be paired with Fresco di Massi, Rosso Verona Igt Bio. The next course of Red Mullet with sea vegetables, savoy, savoy cabbage and green peppercorn sauce will be complemented with a delicate Colbaraca, Soave Classico Superiore Docg.
The main course pays homage to autumn and is a wild Wicklow Venison served with Beetroot, forest mushrooms, potato gallette, juniper sauce and perfectly paired with Costasersa Amarone Classico 2018.
The dessert course, once again takes inspiration from the season and includes a pumpkin parfait, Rye financier, maple crumble and yoghurt sorbet. The Angelorum Recioto Della Valpolicella Classico Docg adds the final flourish to a spectacular meal.
The restaurant, with its open kitchen, intimate booths, low-level lighting, and extensive wine cave, provides an atmosphere rich in theatre and ambiance. Diners will experience the perfect pairing of these exquisite dishes with exclusive back vintage releases from MASI.
