Café en Seine, Dublin’s epicentre of contemporary culture and creativity, has teamed up with Wonderland Productions to present a number of special performances of Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ later this month and early May 2015. Combining great tasting food and drink – either Afternoon Tea or dinner – with an ‘up close and personal’ theatre experience, this critically acclaimed production transports audiences right to the heart of Wilde’s much loved novel in the inspiring surroundings of Café en Seine.
Instead of using a traditional stage the actors perform in amongst the audience, the floor space between the tables acting as the performance arena, creating a distinct 360 degree theatre experience. Adapted and directed by Alice Coghlan, audiences will enjoy Wildean wit in the art nouveau surroundings of Café en Seine’s beautiful atrium, while enjoying a delicious two-course meal reflecting the cultural hub’s Parisian-inspired décor.
A new cast is being put together for the show, now in its fifth year and the Café en Seine performances will mark their debut.
Afternoon Tea and show performance will take place on Wednesday 6th May with doors open at 4pm and show beginning at 4.30pm. Tickets, including afternoon tea, cost €28.50.
Dinner and show performances will take place on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th May. Doors open at 6.30pm followed by a sumptuous two-course meal served at 7pm and show at 8pm. Tickets, including dinner, cost €43.50.
