The new Marks & Spencer Liffey Valley store was unveiled today, just in time for Christmas. The new look store is bigger, better and bolder than ever with a 25 percent bigger Foodhall; a wider, more local range of Irish produce; new digital shopping options; and ‘try-before-you-buy’ stations for coffee and wine.
The unveiling kicked off with the M&S food ambassador, Irish TV Chef Mark Moriarty, and M&S icon Percy Pig who delighted customers, cutting the ribbon at M&S’s new flagship store in Ireland. M&S Liffey Valley is the first in a series of new-look M&S stores across the country as part of an investment in making the M&S shopping experience better than ever.
Exciting and elevated shopping experience – what’s new at M&S Liffey Valley?
New features at the store include the first checkout-free shopping service from a major retailer in Ireland, tasting stations for M&S favourites such as coffee and wine, and a bigger and better bakery serving fresh bread throughout the day. Customers can also look forward to a brand-new The Butler’s Pantry patisserie counter and selecting their Christmas cheese and biscuits from a long self-service cheese barge.
For the kids, interactive elements with Percy Pig and Colin Caterpillar ‘worlds’ will make the weekly shop more fun with the addition of talking Percy Pig and ‘moo-ing’ dairy cows to aisles throughout the Foodhall, promising to keep kids entertained during the weekly shop. For the adults, a new look wine shop will feature an award-winning selection of wines including iconic classics and new varieties to discover from unexpected locations.
On the launch of the new look Liffey Valley store, M&S Trading Director of Ireland Eddie Murphy said: “For the last few months we have been busy making our Liffey Valley store bigger, better and fresher and I’m extremely proud to finally unveil to our customers the finished result. Our customers across Ireland love M&S and the quality and provenance of products that we offer, we are very excited to continue to bring Irish sourced produce to our shelves.
“We’re also working closely with Bord Bia – The Irish Food Board – to become a verified retail member of the Origin Green programme and we are committed to a continued plan to source directly from more Origin Green verified Irish suppliers and Bord Bia Quality Approved farms.”
Skip the queue shopping, Scan & Shop and Click & Collect
Shoppers will also be delighted with the new ‘check-out free’ Scan & Shop service launched across M&S stores in Ireland recently, avoiding check out queues. M&S is the first major retailer in Ireland to provide fully checkout-free shopping to customers, enabling shoppers to ‘scan, pay and go’ in three easy steps – all through the M&S app on their phone.
As well as the new Scan & Shop service, the Liffey Valley store now hosts a new digital Click and Collect area, as well as self-service and fully serviced payment options.
Win a full weekly shop
As part of the renewal launch, one lucky M&S Liffey Valley customer every week will win their full shop through Sparks – the M&S customer loyalty programme. All customers using the app will be in with a chance to win their shop for free, with the promotion running over the coming weeks. There will also be additional prizes and exclusive offers for shoppers through the app.
M&S Liffey Valley will be open Monday – Tuesday 9am-8pm, Wednesday – Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-8pm and on Sunday, 10am-7pm.
