For those who don’t know me, I’m a food journalist and editor and I spend a considerable time eating. In fact, it’s my job – a professional eater. I’m not boasting here, just, by way of introduction, I thought I should lay it all out on the table, so to speak.  Throughout the year, I wander around the country trying new restaurants, menus, dishes, but also revisiting old favourites, and chatting with people in the food community about the latest news in growing, producing, cooking and, generally, enjoying the best of Irish food and drink.   To be clear, I am not a restaurant critic and this list is not a compilation of reviews.
