You Dine We Donate – Oliver Dunne Restaurants in partnership with Aware

2020 has been the toughest year for most of us globally. We are all struggling to some degree to come to terms with the effects of the pandemic. In the worst of cases, we have lost our loved ones or family members before their time. For the majority, we are struggling with day to day life where just trying to stay positive and motivated is proving difficult.

Our work life has been flipped upside down and some industries are under real threat of collapse. Stress, anxiety, and depression are on the rise nationally, and our mental health is being stretched and tested like never-before. Now, more than ever is a great time to reach out and support neighbours, colleagues, friends and family as we all need a little boost from time to time.

We are very proud to have been a corporate partner of mental health organisation Aware since 2019. Aware does amazing work supporting and educating communities throughout Ireland every year. The charity has seen a huge increase in demand for its services in recent months, with a 60% increase in calls for support from people really struggling with the new norm. We want to help.

Following on from our #itmakescents campaign in 2019, Oliver Dunne Restaurants are launching the #YouDineWeDonate campaign in support of Aware. For every dinner booking made this December, we will be donating €5 per reservation across all seven of our venues to Aware. We know only too well, that this has been the most difficult year personally and professionally. The negative effects it has had on the hospitality industry are unprecedented. Our health, both physical and mental is under attack and we need to unite and do what we can to help, where possible. People across Ireland young and old are struggling.

We want to play our part as best we can and have set ourselves a target to raise €10,000 to donate to Aware this December. This money will go towards providing support for vulnerable people experiencing mental health difficulties across Ireland today. In the event of indoor dining not going ahead this December due to continued lockdown, we will be extending this campaign into January or February 2021.

We want to step up and we want to help, it’s time for us all to look after each other, more than we ever have before.

Be kind, take care of each other, and take care of yourself!

Best Wishes,
Oliver Dunne Restaurants
