As the Spanish region of Navarra prepares for the start of the iconic Festival of San Fermín, wine lovers in Cork and Dublin will be treated to a taste of the finest wines of Navarra with two exciting events that showcase the wide array of styles coming from this remarkable DO.
The first event will take place next 12th of July in Cork’s Latitude 51 Wine Café.
A guided tasting of carefully curated wines from the region will take oenophiles through a voyage from easy-drinking whites to great rosés and age-worthy reds.
The L’Atitude kitchen team has been busy studying cookbooks from the region to come up with some unusual, yet traditional, tastes to match the selection of wines, so you’ll be in for a gastronomic experience as well as an evening of wine discovery.
Tickets €15. Booking is essential. To reserve a place call (021) 2390219 or email info@latitude51.ie
Dublin will also delight in the pleasure of tasting the wines of Navarra, on July 28th. Wines from Spain partners with ely bar & brasserie to bring the spirit of San Fermín to Dublin’s Docklands with a special wine tasting and dinner.
Experience fine bottles chosen to match a series of dishes with a modern Irish twist inspired by the typical gastronomy of that Spanish region. The evening will start with a pairing of calamari and garlic aïoli flatbreads with Tandem’s exuberant, complex, minimum intervention rosé, Casual. Guests will then move inside to enjoy a selection of lighter courses and slow cooked Irish meats served with delicious Navarra wines.
Pre booking is required and places can be booked directly with the restaurant via elywinebar.ie/wine-tasting. The Navarra wine tasting dinner at ely begins at 7:00 pm on Friday 28th July and tickets are priced at €60 per person.
