Now, new executive Head Chef Austin Byrne has exciting culinary plans in store, starting with his new weekend brunch menu, full of brunch favourites featuring healthy stuff, comforting stuff, the pick me ups and some irresistible treats too. Byrne arrived at Wineport in November 2018 via London, New York, Miami and most recently Balfes at the Westbury.
Says Byrne: “A weekend just isn’t a weekend without brunch, and we wanted to create a new menu for guests to enjoy as they unwind with friends and family on the weekend. Diners wanting a leisurely weekend brunch will find an assortment of light morning dishes as well as some heartier lunchtime fare (served Saturdays and Sundays from 12. – 4 p.m.). And for the traditionalists, we kept the Sunday roast with all the trimmings features as a special on the menu too”.
The weekend brunch menu features a range of delectable dishes to choose from. For those who on a health kick you can enjoy Lean Turkey Burger with sweet potato wedges, tomato salsa, guacamole and healthy slaw; Avocado Smash with two poached free range eggs and seasonal greens on toasted sourdough; Three Egg Omelette; Superfood Salad with pickled beetroot, avocado, organic leaves, quinoa, spiced toasted pumpkin seeds and grain mustard dressing.
Also on offer are healthy dishes such as Superfruit Smoothies, Porridge, Granola, Yogurt and Fruit
If you’re looking for a little indulgence, fear not as Wineport Lodge are also dishing up Blueberry Pancakes with Horan’s crisp bacon and agave nectar; Beer battered fish’n’chips; Steak ‘n’ Eggs; Eggs Benedict and Sausage & Bacon with black pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms, potato & onion rosti and free range eggs.
And for vegetarian and vegan diners dishes include risotto, garden peas and vegetable crisp or sautéed winter greens, vegan bulgar wheat & cashew, nuts, chilli and ginger dressing. Feast on Caramelised Pineapple, Pink Peppercorn Syrup, Lemon & Lime Sorbet or the ‘boozy’ Misty Affogato made with espresso, Irish mist and vanilla-bean ice cream.
