Whiskey Lovers, Rejoice! The Dublin Whiskey Festival Takes Place Next Week

Dublin is getting a new whiskey festival that celebrates great Irish bottles as well as wonderful spirits from the world’s most renown whiskey making countries. The Dublin Whiskey Festival, which will take place from Monday August 14th to Sunday the 20th will offer you numerous opportunities to taste and enjoy across several venues in the city.

The festival will start with three events on Monday the 14th of August: Whiskeys of Middleton, which will take place Doheny & Nesbitts at 7:00 pm, is the flagship event of the week and it will see Midleton’s Gerard Garland guiding attendees through seven whiskeys from the distillery, including “a surprise or two”, this event is priced at €99.

On the same day, a tasting of whiskeys from “Across the Pond” will bring top Bourbon to the Smock Alley Theatre in Temple Bar, while The Bull and Castle in Dublin 8 will host “An Evening with Liberties Whiskeys.”

Tuesday 15th of August is the day to discover a “Japanese Whiskey Tasting Experience” with Award Winning author Dominic Roskrow at Tengu at Yamamori. Dominic is considered to be one of the world’s top experts on Japanese Whisky. His book ‘Whisky Japan’ has recently been awarded Gourmand World Cookbook Award – Best Spirits Book. Tickets are €49. Also on that evening, the Smock Alley Theatre will host a tasting of “Whiskies of Loch Lomond.”

On Wednesday the 16th, Harry’s on the green will be the place to start a whiskey journey, with the event “An Introduction to Whisky” and Friday 18th of August will be the date to explore the Indian Whisky from the Paul John Distillery in India in a tasting of 5 whiskys that aren’t currently available in Ireland, making the opportunity even more unique.

On Sunday 20th, the Dublin Whiskey Festival will come to an end with “The Last Orders Party” at Harry’s on the Green”.
