Whiskey Live Dublin is Treating us to Something Really Special in Aid of Down Syndrome Ireland

Are you getting excited for Whiskey Live Dublin? Because we sure are. Taking place on November 23rd and 24th, this is set to be the whiskey event of the year.

Guests are set to experience two days of whiskey mania, with whiskeys from across the globe, delicious food pairings, informative masterclasses and the opportunity to chat with the faces behind your favourite tipples.

But one of the best-kept secrets — that is until now — is the launch of a rather special Whiskey Live Dublin Charity Bottling. I know, just when you thought the event couldn’t get much better, the Celtic Whiskey Shop have taken the liberty of organising the first ever ‘All-Ireland’ blended whiskey and all of the money raised from the purchase of this exclusive whiskey will be donated to Down Syndrome Ireland.

Earlier this year, Whiskey Live approached all twelve working Irish distilleries that currently have aged spirit and they agreed to generously supply 5 litres of cask strength whiskey, which have since been married together in a small sherry cask.

It’s important to note that this will be the only ever bottling from these 12 distilleries — Bushmills, Cooley, Dingle, Echlinville, Great Northern, Kilbeggan, Midleton, Alltech, Teeling, The Shed, Tullamore D.E.W & West Cork.

The team at Celtic Whiskey Shop have donated bottles, labels and capsules, Go Workhouse Design have designed the label free of charge and Eunan Ryan of Cult Drinks will be organising the bottling.

After much consultation with charity partners, Down Syndrome Ireland, they decided that this unique whiskey would be named ‘Whiskey 21C’. The name coming from the 21st chromosome in the human system which creates Down Syndrome.

Approximately 70 bottles will be produced and to maximize their value we will be selling all bottles at auction with a minimum sales price of €150. Ten bottles will be auctioned at each of the three Whiskey Live Dublin sessions and the remainder will be auctioned online at Celtic Whiskey Auction, finishing on November 26th at 8pm.

Tickets are €43+ booking fee available from whiskeylivedublin.com OR €43 from Celtic Whiskey Shop on Dawson Street, Dublin 2. At least €10 from every ticket will be donated to charity partner Down Syndrome Dublin along with money raised from a raffle and an exclusive whiskey during the event. Tickets for masterclasses are also available online from €10+ booking fee. Strictly over 18s event – I.D. is required.
