The staff at Celtic Whiskey Shop, Dublin, organisers of Ireland’s biggest whiskey tasting event, Whiskey Live Dublin are pleased to present the team from Down Syndrome Dublin with a cheque for €45,546.00 outside their shop on Dawson Street on July 26th, 2022, with the money raised from this year’s Whiskey Live Dublin! For those who missed last year’s event, tickets to Whiskey Live Dublin 2023 are now live.
Whiskey Live Dublin 2022, which is in its ninth year, took place in the RDS on June 10th and 11th. This year’s event was bigger than ever before with 106 whiskey and spirit exhibitors, over 3,900 visitors, as well as bespoke food pairings, whiskey masterclasses, The Whiskey Pop-Up Shop and the Dream Dram Bar!
As with every year, €10 from every ticket sold was pledged to the show’s charity partner Down Syndrome Dublin, as well as the proceeds from a charity raffle and the takings from the cloakroom at the 2-day event.
Down Syndrome Dublin provides supports and services to people with Down Syndrome across the city. The charity’s specialist team work tirelessly and directly with all age groups of people with Down Syndrome to support as many individuals and families as possible. Secretary Pat Neville says:
“Down Syndrome Dublin, the Dublin Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland, is extremely grateful to Ally and all the people involved in Whiskey Live and the Celtic Whiskey Shop for such a generous donation. The branch has had a relationship with the Celtic Whiskey Shop for some years now, and we have always appreciated their generosity, but this amount is above and beyond anything we have received before and it will make a huge difference to the work of the branch.”
Down Syndrome Dublin is run entirely by volunteers and has no paid staff, so every cent of this donation will be used to provide services and supports for its members.
If you are able to do so, please help them continue to support children and adults with Down Syndrome and their families with a donation at downsyndromedublin.ie/donate.
Whiskey Live Dublin 2023
The dates for Whiskey Live Dublin 2023 have been announced and next year’s event will once again take place in the RDS, Main Hall on Friday May 19th and Saturday May 20th.
As with every year, attendees will have the opportunity to sip and sample the latest Irish whiskey releases as well as whiskies from across the globe, there will also be the opportunity to experience the ever-expanding range of other Irish craft spirits, liqueurs, cocktails and craft beer.
Due to popular demand, next year’s event will see the return of the Dream Dram Bar. Hosted by the Celtic Whiskey Bar & Larder. This bar will feature an even bigger selection of very rare and collectable whiskeys that will all be available for purchase by the 1cl measure.
Celtic Whiskey intends for the event’s 10th Year to be bigger and better than ever and therefore have added an extra session on the Friday afternoon, with the hopes of giving consumers extra time to explore the exhibitors and take part in more masterclasses. The additional session will also increase the charity donation for Down Syndrome Dublin in 2023.
Celtic Whiskey Shop are also behind the Irish Whiskey Awards and Gin Experience Dublin 2018 & 2019. Owner Ally Alpine said “Whiskey Live Dublin gives customers a chance to meet the faces behind their favourite whiskey brands and share their passion for Ireland’s national spirit. It is a great bonus that we can use the event as a platform to raise some much needed funds for Down Syndrome Dublin, which would be impossible without the generosity of all the exhibitors donating fantastic prizes for the raffles and the attendees who buy the tickets’.
Tickets are €44 excluding booking fees and are now available at whiskeylivedublin.com, universe.com and from the Celtic Whiskey Shop, 27-28 Dawson Street, Dublin 2.
