Tullamore D.E.W. opens its distillery doors for the first time with the Ultimate Distillery Experience
Tullamore D.E.W. – the original triple blend Irish Whiskey – opens the doors of its state-of-the-art distillery to the public for the first time with the launch of the Ultimate Distillery Experience. The distillery, a €35 million investment, opened last year and took more than 1,200 specialist engineers and construction workers a combined 475,000 days to complete. The distillery laid down 22,392 casks in its first year, with production capabilities set to double in 2016.
This exclusive access to the home of Tullamore D.E.W. comes as part of the Ultimate Distillery Experience – one of three new tours launched by Tullamore D.E.W. to provide an Irish True experience appealing to each and every visitor. The Ultimate Disitillery Experience is the perfect Christmas gift for those seeking a truly unique journey, with the tour showcasing the craftsmanship and passion essential in creating Tulamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey. As guests enter the impressively modern distillery, they’ll follow the path of the production process, from still house to warehouse, and create their own unique blend in the distillery’s blending room. Guests will also enjoy lunch at the Tullamore D.E.W. Old Bonded Warehouse on Bury Quay – the original site of the distillery.
Whiskey Wise Masterclass is the second of the new tours, with visitors delving into the life of Daniel E. Williams and discovering untold secrets along the path of the innovative founder of Tullamore D.E.W. Taking place at the Tullamore D.E.W. Old Bonded Warehouse, visitors will be taken on an in-depth journey which brings to life our distinctive whiskey making process. Visitors will also experience the flavours of six of our rarer whiskeys in a tasting session in our exclusive Williams’ whiskey gallery.
The Curious Taster’s Journey completes the new suite of tours. A whiskey expert will personally guide guests on a journey that takes in every step of whiskey making, from grain to glass, with the help of a good story in good measure.
