Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver

The new Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver is now open in Dublin

Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver opened its doors on Tuesday 11 October. Based on Dublin’s Exchequer Street, Chequer Lane has been created with one simple goal: to celebrate the best of seasonal Irish produce through hearty, nostalgic dishes – a concept devised by Jamie Oliver together with Irish restaurateur and business partner, Gerry Fitzpatrick.

The menu will celebrate the best of great Irish produce, changing throughout the year to reflect the seasons. From Carlingford Lough fresh oysters to Gilligan’s Farm aged beef, cooked on a robata grill; the ingredients will be the stars of the show. Food will be served alongside expertly-crafted cocktails focusing on Irish single malt whiskey, as well as fabulous great-value wines and locally brewed beers and ciders. Weekend menus will also feature a selection of Jamie’s famous roasts with all the trimmings.

Food providers at Chequer Lane include some of Ireland’s biggest food and drink champions, such as Padraic Gilligan, Gilligan’s Farm, Co. Roscommon (beef and lamb); Jane Russell, Co. Kildare (handmade free-range pork products); Kish Fish, Co. Dublin (fish and seafood); Caterway, Dublin 15 (fruit, veg and herbs); Gleneely Foods, Dublin (award-winning Irish cheeses including Tipperary Brie from Cooleeney Farm and Irish Cheddar from Hegarty’s Farm in Cork); Llewellyn Orchard Dublin (apple juice, ciders and Irish Cabernet Sauvignon); and fine Irish whiskey from Jennifer Nickerson at the Ahearn Farm-to-Bottle Distillery in Tipperary.

Chequer Lane has capacity for 102 diners, including a more intimate dining space downstairs with the potential for private hire, ideal for parties of up to 20 guests. The newly fitted premises is in the heart of one of Dublin’s most bustling dining areas, located off Grafton Street, and has been designed with comfort and warmth in mind. Original brickwork and wooden floors are complemented by luxurious seating, marble table tops and ambient lighting, making this the perfect centrally located dining spot for any occasion. An eclectic mix of contemporary Irish artwork has been incorporated throughout the restaurant, including the work of Dublin-based artist Seán Hillen.

Jamie Oliver says of his new restaurant: “Chequer Lane is a place for all occasions! From long summer evenings to cosy winter nights, decadent lunches to celebrations – we want you to make memories with us. The menu is packed to the brim with exciting, satisfying dishes I just know you’re going to fall in love with.” Gerry Fitzpatrick says: “Chequer Lane will be a fantastic addition to Dublin’s bustling restaurant scene. Diners can expect the very best of delicious and affordable Irish food and drink in a welcoming environment in the heart of Dublin. We’re excited to be working with some of the finest local food producers and look forward to introducing everyone to our great team.” Bookings are now available by contacting reservations@chequerlane.ie or by phoning (01) 499 2424.
