The Ice House will host its first Harvest Dinner on the 6th of October and the event promises to be a celebration of seasonal flavours harvested from the Enniscoe Organic Gardens during the autumn. Expect a combination of the freshest and most flavourful vegetables and fruit, along with some fantastic locally sourced, seasonal meat and fish.
Located in Ballina, County Mayo, The Ice House offers a modern and luxurious retreat with a wonderful food offer. The Harvest Dinner will begin with a drinks reception, where guests will be treated to delicious and interesting autumnal cocktails by Ice House mixologist Leo, such as an Apple Bourbon Bellini, a Cranberry & Apple Moscow Mule and an Orchards Margarita.
The welcome cocktail reception will be followed by a five-course dinner accompanied by carefully chosen wines by O’Brien’s Wines.
Part of the evening’s dishes are featured on the new autumn menu created by Head Chef Anthony Holland, including a starter of oven roasted quail, apricot and sage stuffing and sautéed mixed cabbage with Enniscoe blackcurrant compôte, an Achill lamb tasting plate of Dijon and rosemary coated rump, liver and kidney ragú, organic tomato, mint and chickpeas with red wine jus, a duo of wild pheasant, seared breast and braised leg croquette, poached Puy lentils, baby beetroot and grilled peach, and a gorgeous dessert of Enniscoe apple parfait, apple salsa, organic blackberry coulis.
Enniscoe Organic Market Garden is located in the old walled garden beside Blue Book property Enniscoe House, and produces vegetables, soft fruits and herbs.
Chef Anthony Holland has sourced produce from this garden in the past and and is eager to celebrate it in a splendid Harvest five-course dinner. Guests will enjoy the welcome cocktail, and a choice of wine paired starter, main course and dessert for €55 per person. For those who want to make a night of it, The Ice House is offering a package that includes places at the Harvest Dinner for two people and an overnight stay with breakfast the following morning for €320.
