#TasteKilkenny Launches Its New Website Showcasing All Kilkenny Has To Offer


#TasteKilkenny is a group of Kilkenny based food producers and outlets and yesterday, Monday the 24th, it launched the next phase of its national and international marketing campaign at a launch event at Highbank Orchards & Distillery.

RTE’s Helen Carroll offically launched the new #tastekilkenny website, five new showcase videos featuring local chefs, a suite of images, bags and a set of producer postcards, all showcasing Kilkenny’s food offerings.

Helen also commented about the importance of not underestimating the value of what Kilkenny has to offer: “looking around the room, I see so many who have featured over the years on agricultural shows for developing excellent products, but I also see the colourful individuals who are the driving force behind that product development and are passionate about upping their game.”

Guests that attended the launch were treated to a lunch prepared by Ryeland House Cookery School which consisted of local produce. A welcome address by Cllr Matt Doran, Cathaoirleach was followed by an update on the #tastekilkenny initiative by Fiona Deegan of the Local Enterprise Office, before the latest initiative was officially launched by Helen Carroll.

Kilkenny enjoys a growing reputation as a foodie destination with unrivalled artisan producers and cookery schools, cafés, gastro pubs and restaurants including two separate Michelin starred restaurants.

Supported by the Local Enterprise Office, Kilkenny County Council and LEADER, and promoted by Kilkenny Tourism, this new communication suite complements the food producers work to date and showcases the very best of ‘#tastekilkenny’. Membership of Kilkenny Tourism automatically includes listing on both the www.visitkilkenny.ie and the new www.tastekilkenny.ie websites.
