Taste of Offaly Takes Place this Weekend With Derry Clarke and Plenty of Tullamore Dew

It is fantastic to see every county in Ireland getting behind the wonderful artisan producers local to the area and this weekend’s Taste of Offaly festival will shine a light on one of our premier whiskey producing counties.

Taking place on Sunday November 5th, Taste of Offaly is a Bank of Ireland initiative which aims to support SME food and drink businesses and start-ups in the county.

Over 50 food and drink manufacturers and producers based in Offaly will be on hand to give visitors a taste of the products. Those exhibiting range from small producers to large well-known companies which have put Offaly on the map internationally.

Visitors can meet organic farmers and butchers, bakers and confectioners, artisan conserve suppliers, and big name international companies including Carroll Cuisine, Glenisk, Tullamore Dew and Kilbeggan Distillery as well as many other recognisable suppliers.

Celebrity Chef and Chef Patron of Michelin Starred L’Ecrivain Derry Clarke will be in attendance to celebrate the Offaly food scene and Yvonne Carty from Hey Pesto! Cookery School will entertaining guests with tempting cookery demonstrations.

Taste of Offaly is open to the public between 12 noon and 4pm on Sunday, November 5 in the Tullamore Court Hotel and best of all, admission to the festival is free.

Welcoming the event to Tullamore, Aine Malone, Head of County Offaly, Bank of Ireland said; “Bank of Ireland is always keen to help and support local businesses, community organisations, SMEs and start-ups.”

“On behalf of all of the team in Offaly, we are pleased to provide this opportunity for over 50 local businesses and companies to showcase their goods and services to the local community and beyond. We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm throughout the country for the event and we know Taste of Offaly 2017 will be great day out for both the businesses involved and the entire community. We encourage everyone to come along and sample the very best of what Offaly has to offer.”
