A Look Back At Ireland’s Most Fabulous Food Festival – Taste Of Dublin

Taste of Dublin, Ireland’s most prominent food festival, returns for its 13th year this year, bringing a wealth of flavours, experiences and entertainment to passionate foodies.

The popular festival, held in Dublin’s picturesque Iveagh Gardens, sees renowned chefs, brands and artisan producers participating in the ultimate foodie festival. Taste of Dublin will return again this year from June 14th – 17th and is a must-visit event for all food lovers.

Taste of Dublin is a food enthusiast’s dream, with a vast array of activities on offer, from cooking masterclasses and demos, whiskey and wine tastings, live entertainment, market stalls and much more.

The festival sees thousands of foodies swapping their cash for florins, the festival’s unique currency, and experiencing the latest and greatest restaurants Dublin has to offer.

With so many options on hand, Taste of Dublin is sure to keep you entertained (and fed) over the four fun filled days.

Last June, Taste of Dublin welcomed over 20 of Ireland’s top restaurants, over 30 world class chefs and more than 160 interactive masterclasses.

Taste of Dublin’s 2017 festivities saw a record number of 35,000 guests attending the festival. The theme, Flavours of the World, had restaurants showcasing exciting foreign elements in their menus.

Each restaurant served up unique signature dishes allowing visitors to sample delectable delights from their favourite chefs. Last year’s festival had a new restaurant addition – Pickle. This Indian restaurant brought a sophisticated approach to traditional Indian cuisine from award-winning chef, Sunil Ghai.

To wash down all the appetising dishes, Barry’s Tea served up innovative drinks at their cocktail bar ‘Infusion, by Barry’s Tea’. This brand new experience dished out exclusive cocktails to thirsty festival goers.

Friday’s merriment mixed food and fashion at the Connacht Gold Style Afternoon with Pippa O’Connor. Along with personality Sybil Mulcahy and beauty editor Laura Bermingham, Pippa crowned one lucky Taste of Dublin visitor the ‘most stlyish’. The winner was gifted a fantastic hamper full of festival goodies. This chic event will return to Taste of Dublin 2018 with prize details released closer to the event.

This year’s event will feature some of Ireland’s most exciting chefs such as Andy McFadden and Philip Roe from the acclaimed Glover’s Alley and master pastry chef Shane Smith. Returning chefs, Rachel Allen and Kevin Dundon, will be on hand giving cooking demonstrations and masterclasses to guests wanting to pick up the tricks of the trade.

Dublin native and executive head chef of London’s Bob Bob Ricard, Anna Haugh, will also be in attendance. Anna honed her skills working in L’Écrivain under Derry Clarke, before moving onto Michelin starred Pied à Terre, and Gordon Ramsay’s London House.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Food Lovers Playground’. Taste of Dublin is the perfect event to sample enticing dishes, enjoy fantastic drinks and mingle with like minded food and drink lovers.

As always, there will be exciting food and beverage sessions with Ireland’s biggest foodies, chefs and beverage enthusiasts. As well as various talks, Taste of Dublin will feature interactive cookery demonstrations, with top chef’s dishing out top tips and tricks while making mouthwatering and innovative dishes.

Taste of Dublin is the ultimate food festival ‘Where Food Lovers Feast’. There is something for all the family and every food lover’s whim is catered for.

Fever Tree Premium Tonic return for their second year, bringing a bigger and better experience to gin and tonic fans. Guests are invited to #MixWithTheBest and sample the fabulous tonics on offer.

Festival regular The Exchequer Bar, will be showcasing their finest cocktails and craft beers with a selection of tasty treats. Also in attendance will be Foxes Rock, presenting their Irish ales. Be sure to drop by the Foxes Rock stand to try their exclusive summer specials from their innovative brewers.

The Lindt Maître Chocolatiers are also returning with a brand new stand where guests can taste some of the world’s finest chocolates and attend exciting chocolate demonstrations.

Rioja Tapas Fantasticas on Tour will be in attendance with their Bar Tozino dishing out authentic Spanish tapas and carving up famed jamón ibérico, along with an array of delicious wines from the Rioja region.

As well as delightful dishes and drinks, the Taste market will be available for guests to shop and sample a range of products from artisan producers. An array of 100 food and drink producers wil ensure that all tastes are catered for.

The official wine sponsor of Taste of Dublin, O’Briens Wine, will also be back with special wine masterclasses for those who want to brush up their skills or sample new and interesting wines.

The ever popular Just Eat waiter service returns to help hungry diners get their dishes in super speedy time. Bringing Ireland’s leading online food delivery service to life, a team of Just Eat waiters will take and deliver orders from a selection of restaurant partners.

Taste of Dublin’s headline sponsor NEFF will proudly be showcasing their extensive range of premium kitchen appliances in the ‘NEFF Kitchen’.

When you’ve sampled as many culinary treats as you can, dance the night away at the Chill Insurance Main Stage, where the best musical performers will play all your favourite hits.
