Spicy Potato Wedges Recipe From The Irish Granny’s Pocket Farmhouse Potato Recipes

This spicy potato wedges recipe make a delicious snack or appetiser.

Serves 6


  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1kg/2 lb 4 oz potatoes, scrubbed
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
  • sea salt
  • sour cream and sweet chilli sauce, to serve


  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6. Line the base of a large baking dish with non-stick baking paper.
  2. Combine the spices in a large bowl. Add the oil and mix well to combine.
  3. Cut each potato into six wedges, add to the bowl and toss to coat with the spices.
  4. Arrange the potato wedges in a single layer in the prepared dish and sprinkle generously with salt. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until tender and crisp.
  5. Transfer to a large serving bowl. Top with the shallots and coriander and serve with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.
