Dine like Royalty at Slane Castle’s Brand New Restaurant The Gandon Room

Best known as the destination of the epic Slane concerts, or as a venue for fairytale weddings Slane Castle is now set to become a dining destination following the opening of two new eateries.

In the heart of the Boyne Valley, Co. Meath, the glamorous The Gandon Room Restaurant opened two weekends ago and is said to have been booked out ever since.

Guests at the new restaurant enter through the Castle Courtyard and arrive into a relaxed and elegant reception area which adjoins the Gandon Room.

According the Slane Castle’s website the mandate of the restaurant is to “serve the very best of modern Irish cuisine always using the very best local and seasonal produce.”

The new restaurant, named after one of the principle architects of the Castle James Gandon, opened alongside Brownes Bar, the ideal choice for a lighter or more informal meal, and as you would expect the bar offers a wide range of drinks to suit all tastes.

The restaurant is run by Fitzers Catering, who look after all catering at Slane Castle including VIP events like the one they hosted after the recent Guns n Roses concert.
