Get Ready to Savour Delicious Line Up of Food Events and Stalls at this Year’s Savour Kilkenny

Savour Kilkenny Festival 2017

Once again this year The Marble County will hold a four-day culinary celebration with the return of Savour Kilkenny – Festival of Food 2017. The food festival will take place during the October Bank Holiday weekend, October 27th-30th.

As one of the top three foodie counties in Ireland, over 30,000 visitors are expected to visit where they will be spoiled with over 100 food themed events, most of which are free, and 100 stalls for all the family to enjoy.

A handful of the highlights scheduled include chef Neven Maguire showing the public how to ‘cook Italian for friends and family’, the fusion of when food meets science at ‘Foodoppi’ that is sure to astound and intrigue younger audiences, the chance to try your hand at the Highbank Orchards Gin Masterclass, and exploring the Medieval Food and Craft Village.

Chief of the National Ploughing Association, Anna May McHugh, will also be in attendance to talk to, while Simon Delaney brings his new cookbook, ‘Simply Simon’s Dinners’, to life with River Cottage in their presentation ‘Smoking & Curing – From Snout to Tail’, that aims to inspire all ages.

For more culinary adventures, go on the Mushroom Hunt at the School of Food where you can also hone your craft skills to ‘make your own wooden spoon’ class, or discover more local produce, which is key to the festival, at the pop-up culinary showcase ‘The Menu’, that consists of five mouth-watering signature dishes.
