RTÉ’s Bláthnaid Treacy to judge Bollinger Best Dressed Lady Competition at the Punchestown Festival

RTE and 2FM presenter Bláthnaid Treacy has been announced as a judge for the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady Competition at Punchestown which commences on Tuesday 26th of April at the Kildare venue.

Bláthnaid is the first of four judges to be announced which are being kept tightly under wraps by organisers. Most racegoers will recognise Bláthnaid as ‘Denise Byrne’ the on-screen daughter of Miley and Biddy Byrne in the iconic Irish series Glenroe. Beautiful Bláthnaid has well and truly grown up and is now tipped to be the next big RTE star capturing viewers’ attention as a roving reporter at Electric Picnic last year. She is currently hosting The National Chart show on 2FM on Friday evenings and the popular youth entertainment show Two Tube on RTE 2.

Bláthnaid will judge Thursday’s best dressed competition and the winner will be invited back to take part in the grand finale on Friday, April 29th where she will compete against other top fashionistas selected throughout the opening four days of the Punchestown Festival.

Bláthnaid said, “I am delighted to be involved in judging the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady competition at Punchestown this year. I’m under no illusions, it’s going to be a seriously tough job choosing a winner, the fashion stakes at Punchestown each year are unrivalled at racing festivals the world over. That said, I am really looking forward to finding someone extremely stylish for the much coveted title.”

Gates open at 12 noon each day and scouting will commence early, festival organisers are encouraging ladies to be on site from 1pm if they are interested in the Best Dressed Lady Competition. Judges will choose a selection of those deemed best dressed from the crowd and all finalists will be required on stage for the announcement of the winner at 4pm each day.

The search for the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady will be held over the first four days of the Punchestown Festival. Judges and style scouts will be tasked with finding the most stylish ladies in attendance and selecting a number of finalists each day, with each finalist receiving a Bollinger goody bag worth €250. The daily winner will then progress to the grand final on Ladies Day, Friday April 29th. Not to be forgotten, daily winners will each win a Bollinger luxury goody bag which includes some Bollinger Champagne, a bespoke Montgomery Millinery Hat worth over €200, €100 Tote Voucher, Xposé Beauty Bible 2016, L’Occitane Body Care Package worth €150, plus Punchestown Festival Tickets.

The Bollinger Best Dressed Lady at Punchestown 2016 plus a guest will enjoy return business class flights to France and a private chauffeur directly from the airport to the Champagne region, where there they will have a private tour of the Bollinger estate – a truly special experience as Bollinger is not normally open to the public.

There they will get to experience in person the long history and meticulous craft of this famous Champagne followed by a personal champagne tasting and lunch with the experts at Champagne Bollinger. Then after a luxurious overnight stay and gourmet meal in the nearby historic city of Reims, the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady and her guest will be chauffeured to Paris where they will enjoy a weekend of luxury accommodation and Michelin-starred dining. To round off the experience the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady will receive not only a year’s supply of Bollinger Special Cuvée, but also the limited edition 007 James Bond bottle of 2009 vintage Bollinger, an homage to the world’s favourite connoisseur.
