Remembering Our History – Commemorative Afternoon Tea at The Shelbourne

Adding to their list of exclusive celebratory Afternoon Teas, The Shelbourne has announced a commemorative selection to mark the centenary of 1916. As the country prepares to remember and celebrate our history, The Shelbourne has designed a special Afternoon Tea imbued with a taste of Ireland.

The historical Lord Mayor’s Lounge in the iconic hotel is the perfect setting for reflection and relaxation at this important time. When visiting for Afternoon Tea, stop by the museum in the lobby which displays some of the memorabilia and items from the hotel’s engaging history.

The Commemorative Afternoon Tea celebrates everything Irish with a selection of sweet treats using great Irish products.

Indulge yourself with a Swords rhubarb and Dingle gin jelly with strawberry and rhubarb compote, vanilla crème and sable crumble, a classic Bailey’s coffee cup, a Cox apple and blackberry macaroon with blackberry and white chocolate mousse, and Kilbeggan whiskey and dark chocolate mousse with a salted praline crunch.

All of this is served alongside The Shelbourne’s signature buttermilk scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, plus their range of select sandwiches.

Accompanied by one of the 21 loose-leaf teas or fine coffees, Commemorative Afternoon Tea is available from March 24th throughout the month of April, and costs €45.00 per person or €57.00 with a glass of champagne. Available Monday to Sunday accompanied by a classical pianist.
