The transformation of the Forster Street Bar, An Púcán, has been one of the biggest success stories in Galway in recent years. Three years ago a new team took over the venue and the multi award-winning bar has become one of the most popular venues in the city, with a very broad appeal to locals and tourists alike.
With the appointment of Head Chef Tom Joyce, it was clear that top class food was going to be a priority. The Mayo man is very passionate about using the best local products and this is reflected throughout the menus. Being in the West of Ireland, seafood and Oysters feature heavily.
The Garden is one of the most outdoor areas in Galway and on the occasions that the city is blessed with sunshine, the place will be hopping, whether it’s the after work crowd, sports fans in to watch the big game on one of ten TV’s around the bar or even the Connacht Rugby team in celebrating the latest win.
The back bar is the place to go for some of Galway’s best cocktails. The team have created a menu full of old favourites and a few unique creations.
