Peter Poor From Findlater Wine & Spirit Group Has Sadly Passed Away, Aged 63
Beloved figure in the Irish wine trade Peter Poor, has sadly passed away at the age of 63. The Massachusetts born professional became a valued member of Findlater Wine & Spirit Group, where he performed as Business Development Manager.
After moving to Belfast two decades ago -his widow’s hometown- he joined Direct Wine Shipments (DWS) as a Wine Specialist, for what became the start of a successful career in the sector. Peter then moved to work at Woodford Bourne, and he eventually became the company’s National Sales Manager for the island of Ireland in 2006.
He played a key part in the creation and consolidation of Findlater Wine & Spirit Group in 2008 and in the building of key relationships with high-level customers such as The Marker Hotel, Powerscourt Hotel and Zaragoza Restaurant.
Peter is fondly remembered for his relationship with customers and wine lovers. His legendary wine dinners were a mix of wit, erudition and joviality, and will be missed by consumers, journalists and celebrities alike.
Devoted father, loving husband and friend of many, Peter’s absence will be felt for a long time.
