Enjoy a Perfect Picnic Afternoon Tea this Spring at the Lodge at Ashford Castle

Whether there be rain or sunshine, The Lodge at Ashford Castle has just created the Perfect Picnic Afternoon Tea in the relaxed surrounding of Wilde’s at The Lodge or if the weather permits, it can be arranged on the lawn.

Whether the sun is shining down on the enchanting views of Lough Corrib, or the rain is lashing against the panes, one is guaranteed a relaxing and comfortable afternoon. Your table will be laid with a checkered cloth, and a splendid picnic basket will be brought to your table with a delicious selection of treats inside.

An alternative option from the generic Afternoon Tea, savoury goodies include: Kelly’s of Newport lamb sausage roll, Andarl Farm pork pie with apple jelly and Burren Smoke House salmon, Dillisk cream cheese and pickled cucumber fingers, and there is also a range from the salad bar – Kilmaine potato salad, red cabbage and fennel slaw, organic leaves with honey and mustard dressing – so you can have all the picnicking fun of creating your own favourite combinations.

Sweet treats include free-range crème brûlée, tiramisu espresso and Bea Tollman’s famous cheesecake and, along with teas and coffees. There is also the option of homemade beverages served in vintage-style picnic bottles such as Alex’s Ginger Beer or Seb’s Iced Tea.

The Perfect Picnic Afternoon Tea is available daily from 2pm to 5pm and costs €27.50 per person, or a Prosecco Picnic Afternoon Tea costs €32.50 with a glass of Frizzante.  Alternatively, you can extend your perfect picnic to a perfect overnight stay from €210 including breakfast.
