Opening Date Confirmed for Rachel Allen’s New Cork Restaurant

Fans of the ever popular Rachel Allen will be delighted to hear that her much anticipated first restaurant is set to open to the public at the end of this month on March 20th. Taking pride of place in the heart of Cork City on Washington Street, Rachel’s will make a fantastic addition to the bustling restaurant scene in Cork.

The menu at Rachel’s is designed to include the finest local produce, both hand picked from the grounds of Ballymaloe and sourced from artisan Cork producers to reflect the unique flavours of the county. Rachel’s promises to be “a restaurant that will bring all the freshness and flavour you’ve come to know and love at Ballymaloe right to the heart of Cork City!”

All seafood is caught daily from Ballycotton Bay, pork is sourced from Darran Allen in Shanagarry and free range chickens are reared by Robert Fitzsimons in East Cork. Diners can expect to enjoy simple, elegant dishes such as Wood Fired Ballycotton Prawns with Wild Garlic Pesto and Gently Spiced Roast Leg of Lamb with Smoked Aubergine & Tomato, each showcasing the quality of the produce used. Rachel’s menu is dotted with comforting classics for all tastes.

What’s more, Rachel’s will also be home to a Piano Bar serving bespoke cocktails, also crafted using fresh fruits and herbs from Ballymaloe. A live pianist playing an eclectic mix of music will set the mood for a memorable evening, with impromptu sing-songs a distinct possibility!
