O Canada, you are calling out for us to visit! Fueling our wanderlust, Norwegian airline has announced a new flight from Hamilton, Ontario, to Dublin as part of their Spring 2019 schedule.
The new daily service will take off in March 2019 and will be another welcome boost for travel from Canada to Ireland.
Announcing the news, Bjorn Kjos, Chief Executive Officer at Norwegian, said: “Today marks a milestone in Norwegian’s transatlantic expansion from Ireland as we announce the first ever direct route between Dublin and Hamilton – Toronto. This is also our first ever service between Europe and Canada.”
He added: “We are committed to providing Irish passengers with greater choice and lower fares across our network as we continue to invest in the Irish market. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board our new service to Canada from March 2019.”
Dana Welch, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Canada, welcomed the news, saying: “We are delighted to hear that Norwegian will launch a new flight from Hamilton (Ontario) to Dublin next spring. It’s more good news for Irish tourism as we begin to plan for 2019.”
“We look forward to working closely with Norwegian to maximise the promotion of this new flight from Hamilton and continue to grow Canadian visitor numbers. As an island, the importance of convenient, direct, non-stop flights cannot be overstated – they are absolutely critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism.”
This will be Norwegian’s first-ever route from Europe to Canada and it will commence on March 31st.
The Hamilton Toronto airport is located about 64km from downtown Toronto, with the city’s primary airport, Pearson, currently being served from Dublin by Aer Lingus, Air Canada and Air Transat.
