Kilkenny’s Newpark Hotel to Host a Very Special Charity Craft Christmas Event

We all know that Christmas is a special time of the year, full of festivities, food, family and friends. And this year, Newpark Hotel is hosting an extra special event in aid of Amber Kilkenny Women’s Refuge.

As one of the city’s leading hotels, the venue will be working together with Dutch master florist, Lamber de Bie, to bring Christmas crafts to life with an exclusive Wreath Making Workshop. The charitable event will be part of the county’s Yulefest Kilkenny festivities too, which will take place on Saturday, December 9th from 10am-1pm.

Famous for his work at style icon Suzanne Jackson’s recent wedding, Lamber de Bie will demonstrate how to use seasonal foliage and festive colours to create your very own wreath to take home, that you can then proudly place on your front door this Christmas, giving locals and visitors an opportunity to learn more about making their home even more merry this holiday season.

The Kilkenny-based florist says that “Making your own wreath allows you to add personality and your own unique style to your Christmas decorations. I am looking forward to meeting the guests and sharing my passion for hand-crafting beautiful wreaths with them.”

Mark Dunne, General Manager of the Newpark Hotel said “Christmas is always a special time of year in Kilkenny and here in the Newpark, and even more so with all of the activities that the Yulefest has to offer.

“So we are delighted to be adding to the events with our special Christmas Craft Event. Supporting local charities is very important to us, and we are delighted that the proceeds of this event will go to supporting the great work done by the Amber Women’s Refuge.”

As tickets cost €25 each, all proceeds will be going directly to the local charity. Speaking about her gratitude towards this initiative, Lorraine Corrigan of Amber Kilkenny Women’s Refuge said “We are so grateful to the Newpark Hotel for choosing us as a beneficiary of this wonderful event, which is sure to be of great interest to people from near and far.

“At the refuge, we offer a comprehensive range of responses to families’ needs on and off site, and our work would not be possible without the support of local businesses like the Newpark.”

Tickets are available to buy from the hotel now, and for more information visit facebook.com/newparkhotel.
