Slane Irish Whiskey Launches in Ireland Today

This evening will see the official launch of the much anticipated Slane Irish Whiskey. The founding team will be present to showcase the new product, which is now available in Ireland.

Alex and Henry Conyngham, part of the family who own the legendary Slane Castle Estate, whiskey heavy weight Brown-Forman, and master blenders Chris Morris and Steve Hughes, are part of the team behind Slane Irish Whiskey; a blend of exceptional Irish whiskey, born on the historic grounds of Slane Castle in the Boyne Valley, Co. Meath.

The launch comes almost two years after Brown-Forman purchased Slane Castle Irish Whiskey Limited, starting a partnership with the Conyngham family.

Slane Irish Whiskey is smooth and balanced, toffee-amber coloured and with a pleasant yellow fruit nose and a palate that evokes rich caramel, cinnamon toast and vanilla, made with top quality grain and malt Irish whiskies and enhanced by the use of an innovative triple casked blending method using virgin American oak, seasoned American whiskey and Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez in Spain.

The modern distillery on the grounds of Slane Castle in which Slane Irish Whiskey will be made starting this summer is Brown-Forman’s first outside the United States. It features a visitor centre also scheduled to open this season, where tourists will be able to learn about the whiskeyand the estate.

Slane Irish Whiskey is available in Ireland now for €33 (750ml).
