Michelin Awards 2016 Announced

The top tend on twitter at the moment is who has won or lost their Michelin Stars in Ireland for 2016. Michelin have been busy tweeting this morning, after a leak caused them to act a day early. They begin with the Bib Gourmands in Dublin we saw two new restaurants with The Pigeon House in Clontarf and Delahunt in Dublin 2 showing that the love they have received from diners this year has also reaped bib awards. However, the big news just released on twitter will be Thorntons and Bon Appetit losing their Michelin Stars, Oliver from Bon Appetit has for the past 3 months actively moved away from Michelin and changed Bon Appetit to a more casual affair, however Thorntons was the huge surprise.

The bigs star successes today are for Belfast, with much deserved awards for Ox and Epic@Deanes, Dublin has a long overdue new star in the Green House and Loam won for Galway.

The only female chef in Ireland to scoop a star is Danielle Barry of Epic @ Deanes, huge congratulations has to go to Michael Deane for spotting and growing talent in the Belfast food scene.
