Marqette Celebrates First Birthday with Olympic Heights

On Monday 26th September, Marqette hosted their One Year Birthday Celebration with guest speakers Olympic Athletes Oliver Dingley and Natalya Coyle who both endorsed Marqette as the go to place to eat for healthy alternatives in Dublin Airport. Employing over 100 local staff the team at Marqette aim to provide the travelling customer with sustainable locally sourced produce straight from the farm to the plate therefore supporting the local economy, the environment and the health of their customers.

Speaking at the event Oliver said: “travelling away from home for training and competition is standard practice for most elite and recreational athletes and it is important that we maintain our healthy eating approach. I would highly recommend Marqette for all my dietary needs.”

Natalya agreed: “eating for athletic performance shouldn’t just take place after the gym or right before a big event. It’s something you should be conscious of at every meal and every snack. Here, at Marqette they can cater for all our favourite dishes to maintain our healthy eating lifestyle.”

Marqette has had numerous celebrity and sporting personality customers such as Republic of Ireland Goalkeeper Shay Given, The Leinster Rugby Team, Dublin GAA Football Players, Dundalk FC, The Irish Men’s Olympic Hockey Team, Jersey RFC, Poland’s Gold and Silver Kick Boxing champions to name but a few.

Marqette recently achieved highly commended at the FAB Awards in Geneva for “Airport Food Court of the Year” 2016 which was a huge honour and fantastic endorsement of Marqette. Michael Wright, owner of Marqette said “We are delighted with the success of Marqette and our success at the FAB Awards in our first year of trading and will be expanding the brand into new units in the near future.”

The food hall’s design features a 1960s Citroen split screen van, steel shipping containers, reclaimed timber from American Amish barns and Dolphin’s Barn Brick salvaged from the demolition of U2’s Windmill Lane studio. The unit located in Terminal One seats up to 375 people. Guests enjoy viewing the artistry of the bakers and team of chefs expertly working at the various cooking stations. The bar, nestled in the centre of Marqette offers a window for guests to look out over the main runway of the airport. A master of ultra-chic concepts and sensational interior design, Wright has taken the Dublin Airport’s dining scene to exciting new heights with the success of Marqette.
