Savour Sunday afternoons with a luxurious leisurely lunch in the unique and historical surrounds of The Morrison Room, one of Ireland’s grandest dining rooms overlooking the stunning rose garden in bloom at this time of year and taking in the same views that have captivated visitors to the estate for centuries.
Guests will enjoy carefully curated dishes from Head Chef Charles Degrendele and his team, starting with pâté en croûte with honey mustard and pickles or baked and pickled beetroot with St. Tola goat curd, black garlic and pine nuts, followed by mains of John Stone lamb loin with pomme boulangère, carrots and jus, catch of the day, fillet of fish with pomme fondant, broccoli and marinière sauce or gnocchi parmesan with pesto, tomato and pine nuts, with dessert choices of chocolate cloud truffle chocolate cake, berries & velvet cloud sheep yogurt sorbet or The Morrison Room’s guest favourite ‘Apple’ cheesecake dessert or a cheese selection to complete your Sunday indulgence.
Available on Sundays with sittings at 1.30pm and 2.30pm costing €60 per person, make the most of your afternoon with a stroll on the grounds pre or post lunch, with bicycles available for guests, or spend some time sipping cocktails in The Courtyard Bar or outdoor terrace, taking in the historical estate.
Guests can choose to extend their Carton House experience with a Sunday sleepover with rooms in The Garden Wing from €360 for two adults sharing or in The House from €840 for two adults sharing and includes breakfast the following morning.
