Two Thirds of Irish People Consider Men the Boss of BBQ

Results from a survey conducted by Bord Bia and released today 11th of July showed that almost two thirds (66%) of people in Ireland consider men to be the ones in charge of the BBQ.

The consumer survey coincides with the EU co-funded Lamb – Tasty, Easy, Fun campaign, launched by Irish chef Mark Moriarty, winner of the 2015 San Pellegrino Young Chef of the World Award, which aims to promote lamb as perfect for quick and healthy meals. This survey revealed that barbequed lamb is the favourite lamb mid-week dish for summer (23%), followed by stir-fry’s (13%) and stews (9%).

Speaking at the announcement of the campaign, Chef Mark Moriarty said: “Lamb is a personal favourite of mine – it’s a wonderfully versatile and powerful meal ingredient.
