Kevin Thornton to Showcase ‘Food as Art’ at This Year’s Body & Soul Festival

Luxury champagne brand Veuve Clicquot is celebrating the 200th anniversary of its Rosé Champagne in sparkling style at this year’s Body & Soul Festival.

Expertly blended 200 years ago by the ‘Grand Dame of Champagne’, Madame Clicquot, it creates a tantilising sensation on the palate. A full bodied drink with fruity flavours of ripe cherries and strawberries, it has heavenly aromas of dried fruits.

Madame Clicquot’s bold spirit and passion for the French champagne is an inspiration for the talks and themes at the Veuve Clicquot Garden.

Food writer Dee Laffan will be hosting the exciting line up which aims to showcase a range of Ireland’s incredible food producers, innovators and creators.

Guests to the festival can see acclaimed chef Kevin Thornton, who will be illustrating the visual aspects of ‘Food As Art’ and will also be giving a demonstration of bog butter dishes in ‘Lost Ingredients & Ancient Preserving Techniques’

In celebration of Madame Clicquot, a series of all-female panels will take place. Hosted by Louise McSharry, it will feature a range of guest speakers in various industries.

DJs Kelly-Anne Byrne and Sally Cinnamon will be discussing the Irish music industry, while authors Aoife McElwain, Eithne Shortall and Caroline Foran will be talking about the Irish media landscape.

World class sommelier Julie Dupouy will be discussing the beauty of pairing champagne and food and giving her suggestions on treats on offer from the Food On Board initiative.

To top off the fun-filled weekend, the Veuve Clicquot ‘House of Rose’ Masquerade Ball will transport you to a magical world of fantasy. On Saturday 23rd elaborately dressed festival goers will enjoy fantastic theatrics, burlesque and glamour.
