Ireland’s Blue Book Announces Three New Members

Ireland’s Blue Book collection, viewed as the gold standard classification of classic hotels, country houses and restaurants across the country, is today to announce the addition of three new members for 2017. The association, founded in 1974, admits only the highest standard of property displaying the criteria of uniqueness and environmental awareness.

This year’s Blue Book AGM is taking place today at Dunbrody Country House in Wexford with additions of The Tannery Townhouse, Dungarvan, Belleek Castle, Co. Mayo and The Hilton Park Manor, Co. Monaghan to the collection to be announced.

Paul Flynn’s Tannery, a renowned restaurant which also offers boutique accommodation and a cookery school, will join high end restaurants such as L’Ecrivain and Chapter One on the list.

Belleek Castle and the Hilton Manor House will be in good company alongside the likes of Tankardstown House and Gregan’s Castle, all of which offer elegant period charm and memorable dining experiences.

Belleek Castle is the fifth Blue Book member in Mayo, joining the Ice House, Clare Island Lighthouse, Newport House and Enniscoe House while the Hilton Manor House will now represent Monaghan alongside Castle Leslie. The Tannery is the only property in Waterford to make the prestigious current list.

The three new additions bring the number of properties in Ireland’s Blue Book to 50. To learn more about Ireland’s Blue Book or to book a Blue Book Break click here.
