If you had travel planned for today, there’s a good chance that it has been cancelled as Hurricane Ophelia makes its way through the country. Keep reading for the latest information on flight, train, bus and ferry cancellations.
Over 200 flights have now been cancelled for Monday and passengers are encouraged to check the live updates on airport websites.
At 8.30am, Dublin Airport tweeted: “Flights currently operating normally, but up to 125 flights have been cancelled this PM due to storm #Ophelia.”
On the ground, Bus Eireann has cancelled all its services nationwide and all Dublin Bus services will be withdrawn from 10am this morning. They are scheduled to resume service at 6pm, pending weather conditions.
Irish Rail took to Twitter to inform passengers that anyone not travelling will receive a refund: “If you bought ticket for today & decide not to travel, we’ll refund. Also change train time for any other train today for no charge.”
Finally, the latest information for Irish Ferries is available here. The 14.30 Swift service from Dublin-Holyhead is cancelled “due to adverse weather conditions on the Irish Sea”. Its 20.55 Ulysses sailing is “in doubt”.
