Galway’s Hotel Meyrick is Turning January into Ginuary with a Series of Gintastic Events

January will become Ginuary at Hotel Meyrick as the team has a series of activities planned for the first month of the year, all dedicated to the taste, smells and pleasures of gin.

Hotel Meyrick with the Gaslight Bar & Brasserie has been a keen supporter of the gin revival and it offers one of Galway’s best gin experiences. Ginuary is hosted in association with Beefeater 24. Included in the #Ginuary line up will be a “G & Tea” Afternoon Tea Experience, A Gin Infused Supper Club in the Gaslight and a Gin Tasting Experience for booked groups.

Gin Infused Supper Club

The Gaslight Bar & Brasserie will host a ‘Gin Infused Supper Club’ on Friday 26th January, featuring a three course menu crafted by AA Rosette Meyrick Head Chef, Phillip Dunleavy and inspired by premium gins. Dishes include maple & gin glazed belly of lamb or confit chicken spring roll with gin and plum dipping sauce to start with, followed by gin marinated beef short rib with juniper berry jus or organic salmon with sea vegetables, crushed celeriac drizzled with a gin dill sauce.

Even the beautiful desserts have been given the botanicals touch with a knickerbocker glory like no other that features layers of gin ice-cream or a traditional rhubarb and apple crumble served with gin jelly.

Tickets are priced at €35, including a complimentary premium Beefeater 24 Gin & Tonic. Linger longer, as there’ll be post dinner beats of the House DJ from 10:00 pm until late.

Gin Tastings with an Expert

The experienced Gin Ambassadors at the Gaslight will guide you through a journey of gin exploration. Discover botanicals and flavours over a flight of three different premium gins: Beefeater 24, Monkey 47 and Plymouth Gin, and enjoy while listening to the knowledgeable tips from the team.

This Gin Tasting experience is at €15.00 and available for pre-booked groups of 8 or more and involve a 15ml tasting of each of the 3 gins along with a Premium Tonic. Gin Tastings must be booked in advance

G&T Afternoon Tea

Between the 8th to the 31th of January (or shall we say, Ginuary), Hotel Meyrick is giving its Traditional Afternoon tea a gin-loving twist with Beefeater 24 Gin from Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard & Fever Tree tonic. This Limited edition “G & Tea” Experience will be at €26.00 per person.
