Charming Galway Cottage Wins Best in Ireland at National Travel Awards in UK

A Galway cottage has been named best in Ireland by the UK’s largest independent operator of British and Irish holiday rentals.

Located on the shores of Lough Derg, The Humble Daisy is a beautiful 18th century thatched cottage and now, gold winner in the Skyes Cottages’ national travel awards programme.

The property was once the home of current owner, Mary Rose Donnelly’s grandparents, but has been in her hands for the past eight years.

The silver award went to Ballyblood Lodge in Co. Clare, while The Visiting House in Dunmore, Co. Galway was the bronze winner.

The Sykes Gem Awards celebrate excellence in holiday cottage accommodation and saw thousands of entries from across the UK and Ireland.
