From Thursday 30th March – Sunday 2nd April 2017 The Latin Quarter in Galway will host ‘Gin Fest’, a day 4 celebration of all things related to Gin.
A range of events will be taking place in the bars throughout the Latin Quarter. Exciting events such as; Master Classes and Tastings, Gin Afternoon Tea, Gin Trails, Food & Gin Pairings, Gin Cocktails & Competitions, Blind Tastings, New Gin launches, Gin Experientials, along with Gins & Reels Music Sessions to name but a few and including a range of free workshops.
Speaking of Gin Fest, The Latin Quarter committee said ‘Galway is renowned as the city of festivals, so adding Gin Fest to the programme of events is another fantastic celebration for locals and visitors to the city to savour. In the past year, bars across the country have seen such a surge in the popularity and demand for gin so we want to create a festival that brings people together from the master distillers to those who enjoy drinking gin. It’s the first year of the festival and we hope it will become an annual event thanks to the support of our festival partners Diageo, Edward Dillon, Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard and Richmond Marketing”.
The main focus of the festival is to encourage people to try a variety of gin and tonic brands now available on the market. There will also be a focus on the education side of how gin is made for both the trade and public, learning about the perfect serve when choosing garnishes for various types of gin and how tonics enhance the flavour of your drink.
