A Feast For All The Senses – GalleryX Reopens With a Foodie Twist

Yesterday saw the grand reopening of GalleryX, with a unique solo exhibition from internationally renowned Italian master Saturno Buttò, in its new home, Feast Restaurant in Dublin 8. The exhibition is titled Blood Red Wine and features an array of paintings that represent the artist’s views on the sensuality and sacredness of red wine.

Giovanni Giusti, the gallery’s founder, spoke about the exciting events, saying it was “certainly a step in a different direction for GalleryX.” Guests will not only enjoy fine wine and food but also have the chance to view some unique art on display.

Giovanni hopes to exhibit up to four shows throughout the first year, with a mix of Irish and international artists. Commenting on this, he said: “Each of them will stay on display for about 3 months, to give more people the opportunity to appreciate the work on show. I can’t reveal the other names just yet, but we are hoping to show a total of one Irish and three international artists.”

Continuing on, Giovanni said: “We decided to pair up with Feast for a number of reasons: personal, as I have been friends with owners Anja and Sergey for over 10 years; but also because we have a lot of ideas in common about promoting art – whether visual or culinary.”

The gallery will also be changing its opening times to mirror those of the restaurant. During the restaurant’s early bird hours, from 5.00pm – 7.00pm every Wednesday to Sunday, guests are encouraged to view the art or perhaps enjoy their visit along with a glass of wine and some culinary delights from the restaurant menu.

Owner of Feast, Sergey Letsko added: “The ideas behind our restaurant and the gallery are in the end quite similar. It’s all about stimulating the senses with works of art – whether culinary or graphic – and creating an experience that is at the same time engaging and accessible.”
