Alongside the essential elements of a traditional afternoon tea – the selection of impeccably dainty sandwiches, homemade buttermilk scones with clotted cream and jams, and a large tea and coffee menu – the Chocolate Valentine’s Afternoon Tea at The Shelbourne menu showcases the art of the French pâtissier by including four deliciously rich chocolate-focused fancies.
Featuring a Mississippi mud pie with praline ganache from Chocolateria de L’Opera (22% cocoa), a divinely decadent Chocolate and Orange Macaroon with orange pâté de fruit and Valrhona 72% chocolate mousse, White Callebaut Chocolate Cheesecake (28% cocoa) with Swords strawberry compote and a chocolate cone of Milk Chocolate Callebaut Mousse (34% cocoa) with apricot compote and pistachio Dacquoise.

Accompanied by live music from a classical pianist, Chocolate Valentine’s Afternoon Tea is available daily in the Lord Mayor’s Lounge at The Shelbourne from €45.00, or from €57.00 with a glass of Champagne, from 1st February.
