Ireland’s biggest music and arts festival Electric Picnic released their music line up not long ago and now to many a food and music lovers delight they have released their dedicated Foodie Lineup too, with a some of Ireland’s best-loved cooks and food personalities set to take to the stage at the Theatre of Food.
The Theatre of Food will present what is billed as “a mind-expanding, mind-altering concept of what Irish food is all about”, with names such as Rosanna Davison, sushi supremo Takashi Miyazaki and Sophie White among the big names.
There will be a workshop education space, presenting family workshops on everything from feeding the baby to making pizza in the Theatre of Food Wood Fire Land Valoriani pizza oven.
For those who want to get involved, subjects like sustainability and fake food news are set to be debated, and there’s an all-girl chef line-up discussing Irish restaurant trends.
This year Waterford Grocer Ardkeen will stock the Theatre of Food, and chef Caitlin Ruth will be in charge of the beautiful handmade kitchen from Liam Grant Wood Design, which will be exclusively stocked with Kenwood equipment.
In an attempt to stage the longest Picnic in Ireland, on Saturday afternoon The People’s Picnic, organised by four Fáilte Ireland Food Champions, will take place. People who wish to participate pay €10 with all proceeds raised donated to the charity Jigsaw.
