The Newly Opened Cat Lounge Dublin is the Purrfect Spot for Feline Fans

You could say this place is the cat’s meow… If you describe yourself as a cat person, then you might have heard of it, and we’re delighted to share the good news: the Cat Lounge Dublin is opening its doors today after three years of hard work.

Inspired in the pawsome cat cafés of Japan, the venue is a very unique addition to the vibrant area of Smithfield, in Dublin 7. Visitors can enjoy the company of kittens while sharing a cup of tea or coffee and they can also adopt a cat if they wish.

If you love felines but have a roomate or family member that doesn’t, or someone in the house suffers from allergies, this offers you an unmissable opportunity to hang out with cats, as meet other cat aficionados.

Georgina O’Neill, the woman behind this idea hopes that the place also helps to raise awareness on animal cruelty and educate people about cats.

All the cats and kittens at the Cat Lounge Dublin come directly from a vet practice. They will be available for adoption to the right people when the time is right. The house rules ensure the cats are happy, comfortable and protected from stress or over exposure.

How does it work? Guests can book 90 minutes visits priced at €15 per person, in which they’re allowed to play with the cats and help themselves to tea and coffee.

There’s no food served on the premises, but you’re welcome to bring your laptop and even work away surrounded by your favourite animal.
