Cork Bakery Launches New Gluten Free ‘Family Sharing’ Range

Cork business Denise’s Delicious Gluten-Free Bakery is launching a new range of ‘family sharing’ treats to market.

Ireland’s first artisan gluten-free bakery, Denise’s Delicious Gluten Free Bakery, was founded by Denise O’ Callaghan in 2008. The bakery has grown substantially now employing a team of 13 at its base in Little Island, Cork.

In response to demand for popular family ‘free from’ treats, Denise and her team spent over a year in the bakery’s test kitchen perfecting their recipes and incorporating feedback from customer tastings to bring three new family-sharing cakes to market.

Classic family favourites, the range features a Cranberry and Orange Loaf, an Oxford Lunch Cake and for the UK market only, a Chocolate and Orange Loaf. Specially chosen ingredients feature a number of Irish producers including free range eggs from family business, Clonarn Clover in Cavan.

With an increasing national trend for gluten free, latest research finds that one Irish person in every 120 requires gluten-free products. Denise’s Delicious Gluten Free Bakery already offers a number of treats and products for breakfast, gateaux, ‘on the go’ snacks and gluten free ingredients including Denise’s specially blended gluten free flour and gluten free pizza base.

Consumer demand across our product ranges has increased by 15 per cent over the past year. We listened to feedback from our customers who want tasty, gluten, wheat and dairy free family cakes that all the family can enjoy together. A former investment banker, Denise was inspired by her dad, Michael, who is a Coeliac to found her own business Denise’s Delicious Gluten Free Bakery. What began as a home-cooking passion to support him, prompted Denise to open Ireland’s first gluten- free artisan bakery.
