Conrad Dublin’s New Bar Lemuel’s is Inspired in the Magic of Gulliver’s Travels
Lemuel’s, named after the famous fictional traveller Lemuel Gulliver from the book Gulliver’s Travels, is part of the Conrad’s €8 million renovation plan. Inspiration from the literary classic is woven into every corner of the place and the attention to detail is consistently felt, from their creative Afternoon Tea menu inspired in Gulliver’s journey to the far reaches of the world, to cocktails cocktails crafted in the true spirit of Lemuel’s adventures, using a large selection of the finest Irish spirits and an exclusive international wine collection. A light food menu is available throughout the day with highlights including Sheridan’s Cheese Board, Glen of Aherlow Ham Hock Croquettes and Prawn and Avocado Cocktail.
Lemuel’s signature cocktails and their creative descriptions were devised by Alan Moore, Lemuel’s resident mixologist, whose interpretation of Lemuel Gulliver’s journey shines through with cocktails such as Sorcerer’s Tipple inspired by Gulliver’s encounter with an island full of sorcerers and magicians and Say Neigh inspired by the island of Houyhnhnm which was ruled by a race of intelligent horses.
Lemuel’s Afternoon Tea starts the journey with the Lilliput Lollipop, which takes its inspiration from the island of Lilliput, where Gulliver finds himself imprisoned by a race of tiny people. Honey Stack represents the island of Brobdingnag, Up in the Clouds signifies the flying island of Laputa, and Apple jelly, elderflower foam and shortbread is the essence of the Horseshoe Shot.
Lemuel’s Afternoon Tea is available at €40.00 per person; Story Teller Cocktail Afternoon Tea is €48.00 or for that special occasion enjoy a Champagne Afternoon Tea at €54.00 per person.
