Connect16 To Shape the Future of Business Tourism in Ireland
On Wednesday 28th of September, the RDS will play host to over 170 hotels, venues and event suppliers at CONNECT16: a showcase of the very best Ireland has to offer in business tourism.
The one day live event will attract over 2,000 leading international events professionals, who will be given a flavour Ireland’s potential as a business tourism destination through a display of the latest in technology, meeting design, new products, new venues, hotels, some of our most talented speakers, exciting entertainment acts, engaging activities and the very best of Irish food and drink.
The inaugural CONNECT16 is a free event open to all, but, billed as a ‘Live Meeting Industry Marketplace’, is particularly relevant to anyone who organises corporate meetings and events in Ireland or globally, who will be given a unique opportunity to network, do business, learn and be inspired.
Business tourism is currently worth €669m to the Irish economy, and is expected to exceed over €700m in 2017. In a bid to attract international conferences and further valuable international business to our shores, the event will also promote Ireland’s intellectual capital, and highlight the supports already in place from Fáilte Ireland and professional conference organisers.
Doors open at 8am, and CONNECT16 will be officially opened by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD at 9.30am on Wednesday 28th September. A networking reception and entertainment showcase will take place from 5-7pm.
