Lighter options can be hard to come by on a typical brunch menu, with french toast and fried fancies galore. The traditionally stodgy meal is set to get a makeover with the introduction of a brand new brunch offering by healthy food mecca Cocu, which recently opened a third branch on Chatham Street, just off St Stephen’s Green.
Already a firm favourite for the office lunch hour crowd, the addition of a weekend brunch menu to the Chatham Street store will see lighter takes on traditional brunch fayre joining the already tempting array of saintly dishes on offer. On this menu, you can sample Green Pea Pancakes with herby salad, crumbled feta, avocado, toasted pumpkin seeds & red pepper oil or Cocu Shakshuka poached eggs with avocado & wilted spinach – classic favourites with a healthy twist.
For those of us who prefer to usher in the weekend with a bite of something sweet, Cocu’s brunch menu has everything from rainbow coloured Acai Smoothie Bowls to Protein Pancakes, which can be served with house made Nut-ella for a little healthy indulgence!
Cocu is committed to supporting local suppliers so expect to see names like Tartine Bakery, Cloudpicker coffee and Green Beards cold pressed vegetables juices on the new menu.
Brunch will be served in Cocu Chatham Street on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information or to see the full brunch menu, click here.
