Are You a Fan of Oysters? Make Sure to Experience The Cliff Oyster Festival This Month

Celebrating the start of oyster season, the Cliff Townhouse, along with sister properties Cliff at Lyons and Cliff House Hotel, is paying homage to his majesty the mollusk with a month-long Oyster Festival.

This is the Oyster Festival’s 7th year and the Cliff properties have an exciting line-up of events in store for guests to enjoy.

With a splash of seafood, a dash of the drinks that perfectly match plus oyster specials throughout the entire month, the CLIFF Oyster Festival will also have an exciting line-up of ‘Oyster Sessions’, bringing together oysters, celebratory drinks and terrific live music in perfect harmony.

Oysters and Opera will take place at Cliff at Lyons with an oyster dinner, bubbly and a live outdoor opera performance in this gorgeous rural retreat, priced at €89 or €110 to include matching wines.

The Cliff Townhouse in Dublin city will host a Jazz & Oyster Sunday Lunch on Sunday 16th September, which will start with a glass of Albariño wine and half a dozen oysters at the beautiful Oyster Bar, while Head Chef Sean Smith gives a short and interesting talk and demonstration with oysters.

You will then sit down to a delicious three course lunch with live music from a Jazz duo. This costs €50 per person and there is a 12.30pm and 2pm sitting to choose from.

The Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore will be bringing in local trad musicians to entertain their guests while serving their local Harty’s Oysters with local Craft beers on Thursday 27th September. On the same date Cliff House Hotel will also hold an Oyster Tour & Supper with Harty’s Oysters.

Guests will be invited to tour Harty Oyster farm in Dungarvan, tasting freshly harvested oysters and learning the history of the family business, pioneers in the cultivation of oysters in Ireland. The group will then move on to Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore for a stunning three-course Harty Oyster Supper, taken in The Bar Restaurant overlooking the sea, with the local trad musicians providing the entertainment.

The event is a self-drive event, places are very limited and costs €60. If you’d like to make a night out of it you can stay over in the beautiful Cliff House Hotel for €399 per person sharing, and this price includes the oyster dinner plus a beach forage in Ardmore with renowned sea gardener Marie Power the following day.

Throughout the month of September, all three properties will be encouraging guests to indulge in these treasures of the sea with a special offer of 6 Irish Oysters with a glass of Albariño wine from Rías Baixas in Spain for €15.

The CLIFF Oyster Festival has something for all seafood lovers and is perfectly designed for balmy September days. For more information on CLIFF Oyster Festival visit clifftownhouse.ie.
