Broadcasters George Hook and Brent Pope, food writer Georgina Campbell, publisher Norah Casey, UTV’s Alison Comyn, The Great Irish Bake-Off’s Biddy White Lennon and Alan Hughes of TV3, enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a lavish three course meal which included the classic seafood and meat dishes that have made Roly’s famous, and also a few of the new favourites on the menu. Chef de Cuisine Paul Cartwright and Head Chef Hugh Hyland said the Himalayan Salt Aged Beef certainly proved popular among the foodies on the night, as did the Seafood Platter of Castletownbere Crab, Dublin Bay Prawn Cocktail, and Bantry Bay Scallops. Owners Angela and John O’Sullivan mingled with guests and regaled stories of some of Roly’s famous guests over the years including The Boss Bruce Springsteen, U2’s Bono and most recently Sir Tom Jones, who sat at Table 29.-photo Kieran Harnett
