Bread 41 Spreads Christmas Cheer With Their Inclusive Gingerbread Village

As the Christmas season unfolds, Bread 41 is thrilled to unveil its annual gingerbread village, a cherished tradition that has taken on a heartwarming twist this year. Embracing the spirit of inclusivity, the bakery has crafted gingerbread people with limb absences, ensuring that individuals of all abilities can share in the joy of this festive tradition.

The enchanting gingerbread village is now on display and open for public viewing, welcoming passersby, customers, and anyone in search of a dose of Christmas spirit. Bread 41 invites everyone to experience the magic firsthand.

In the true spirit of the season, Bread 41 is dedicated to giving back. All proceeds from this year’s gingerbread village will go towards supporting the National Rehabilitation Hospital and Reach Ireland, both organisations committed to assisting individuals with diverse abilities.

To further amplify the impact and involve the community, the Dublin bakery is extending the opportunity for businesses and customers to participate. Companies are invited to sponsor key positions in the gingerbread village, with their company names featured in the display, showcased in the front window of the bakery. By doing so, these businesses not only support a noble cause but also become integral contributors to creating a more inclusive and festive holiday for everyone.

Companies passionate about making a difference can reach out and secure their spot in the gingerbread village by emailing their expression of interest to community@bread41.ie . Drop in and visit the display by visiting Bread 41, 41 Pearse St, Dublin 2, D02 H308. Together, let’s make this Christmas season one to remember for everyone, regardless of abilities.

Sponsorship opportunities that corporates can avail of are:

  • 4x houses @ €2,000 each
  • 6x plaques @ €1,000 each

Eoin Cluskey of Bread 41 said “Making sure to include everyone in our annual Bread 41 gingerbread village, makes the tradition even more special and meaningful. We are delighted to be able to bring our piping bags and gingerbread to the table and be a part of this great cause! Inclusivity, creativity and baking – A recipe for something really great!“

Briony May Williams, Reach Ireland Ambassador and Bake Off star, said “I absolutely love gingerbread, I make it every year with my daughter, so to see these gorgeous little gingerbread people with limb differences makes my heart happy. Everyone deserves to feel included, especially at Christmas, and these are perfect for that. Representation matters, even in baked goods!”

Edel Lambe of The National Rehabilitation Hospital said: “The National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) is very grateful to be one of the chosen beneficiaries of this fantastic fundraising campaign by Bread 41 and I would like to thank Eoin and all the team at Bread 41 for their decision to support the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH), for adults and children.  Fundraising and donations play a vital role in the rehabilitation journey of patients in the NRH.”

She continued: “Funds raised and donated allow the NRH Foundation to support the Hospital in the funding of specialist equipment, research, and projects to further support the services provided by the NRH. The funds raised from this very exciting fundraising initiative will make a very impactful difference in supporting adults and children in the NRH as they travel on their individual rehabilitation journey and for this we are extremely grateful.”
