The Saddle Room at The Shelbourne Hotel will host a very special wine dinner this Wednesday October 11th: Wine Geese – Bordeaux and Beyond, a soirée that will present wine lovers with a delectabel five course dinner masterfully paired with wonderful wines from Bordeaux and beyond that share a connection with Ireland.
Sommelier Nisea Dodd from The Shelbourne Hotel has selected the wines by the Irish Wine Geese along with the team of experts at prestigious wine merchant James Nicholson. Jane Boyce, Fine Wine Manager at JN Wine will introduce each of the selected wines and courses, all which have been carefully selected to complement each course perfect.
Executive Chef Garry Hughes has undergone detailed research to create a menu inspired in the ancestral Irish home counties of the the wineries to be enjoyed, and he has sourced fine Irish ingredients to create a tribute to each winemaker in every course.
The menu features house cured Kenmare salmon with pickled ginger and cucumber, confit duck terrine, risotto of Longueville House cep, slow braised Charleville ox cheek with porcini mushroom, chocolate fondant and the chef’s selection of petit fours, the key ingredient of each dish has been carefully chosen to highlight an ancestral homeland of each individual winemaker.
This is a unique experience that offers you the opportunity to taste, side by side, the finest wines created by Irish connected wineries and The Saddle Room’s superb complementary menu. The evening will take place on Wednesday October 11th and it will begin with a reception in the Adams Suite at 6.30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7.00 p.m. with tickets priced at €89 per person.
